From June 2, 2008 you will no longer need to carry all published route maps. You will only be required to carry current Road Train Maps. New documents and maps come into operations as of Monday 2nd June 08, at which time the previous documents and maps are revoked. The replacement documents that you will need to carry in the cab of the road train prime mover are available on the DTEI website or please Click Here. You must carry the Gazette Notice, Code of Practice dated April 2008 and Route Maps applicable to the journey being undertaken.
A Gazette Notice is an exemption granted under the Road Traffic Act. A Gazette Notice allows Restricted Access Vehicles (RAVs) to operate on approved route networks in South Australia, provided that the terms and conditions of the Notice have been met.
